The Star Inn was situated opposite the Sportsmans Inn at the bottom of Cheapside at 59 Mottram Road. It was operating as an inn by 1872 but closed sometime in the 1920s as by 1930 it had become a cycle and wireless shop. By looking at old maps it would appear the former Star Inn was demolished sometime in the late 1980s.
