| Former Harbour Place cottages in 2009. |
A 1902 a trade directory mentions the Birds Nest Inn located at Harbour Place in Newton. Harbour place was a row of five cottages on what is now Harbour Farm Road. The Birds Nest Inn is one of these five cottages. I'm unsure as to whether the cottages still standing today are the same ones (there is a datestone on there which cannot be made out on google maps) as they look like terreced housing built around 1920. I will add more info if and when I receive it although I do know it closed in 1907.
