Black Bull (Mottram, HYDE)

The Black Bull was built in 1769 next to the churchyard for St Michaels church. Its address was given as 27 Church Brow and was originally one of four cottages. The Black Bull was the southernmost cottage and around 1860 the neighbouring cottage was purchased and knocked through. It was around this time that it bacame the Black Bulls Head. It closed in 1911 after the local vicar compained about the inns locality to the church and demolished although its remains including its datestone are still evident.
