Royal Hotel (Town Centre, HYDE)

The Royal Hotel on an 1872 map.

The Royal Hotel was situated on the corner of George Street West and Edward Street. It was built around 1850. I have very little info about this pub at the moment but I do know it closed around 1918 and was demolished sometime around 1962 when road improvements were being made. The site of the former Royal Hotel is roughly the north side carriageway of the M67 directly above what is left of George Street.
