The Star Inn was located on Stalybridge Road in Mottram. A lot of its neighbouring properties were built in the 1850s but the Star Inn could be a lot older as it is recorded that a lodge of freemasons used a Star Inn in Mottram as early as 1765. There is also a Stag Inn listed as being on Market Street but this may be a spelling error. I know very little else about this pub. In fact I've no idea when it closed or when it was demolished. I will add more info as I get it. The site of the former Star Inn is now housing.
