Highland Laddie (Town Centre, HYDE)

Map from 1872 showing the Highland Laddie.

The Highland Laddie was situated at 2 Grafton Street roughly where the Clark Way flyover is now. It dates back to at least 1820 although it could be as early as 1791 when Robert Burns wrote the song "Highland Laddie". It was one of the last buildings to be demolished when the area was cleared to make way for the M67. It closed in 1975 and demolished later that year.
