The Boy and Barrel on the right c.1905. |
The Boy and Barrel was one of the oldest pubs in the Hyde area having been built around 1776. Its address was given as 93 Stockport Road, Gee Cross. The pub was used on occasion for important civil meeting and at least twice was used as a venue for a murder inquest. The Boy and Barrel was demolished in 1909 and the site is now occupied by flats (opposite the Village Chippy).
