The former Rising Sun public house is located on Chain Bar lane in Hattersley. It dates back to at least 1791 when it was known as the Blacksmiths Arms. Between 1871 and 1881 it became the Rising Sun which closed in 1890. The former public house became a private residence called the Old Manor House.
